“If I lost you Id lose all the Human I am”

This Good Robot is a six piece rock band from long island New York but to leave it like that does not do the band justice.

I Just got a hold of the new record The Light is taking me to pieces from this good robot and have to say it is one of the best albums I have heard in a long time. It is ambitious and the album feels like an opera is being performed on a stage. Following along I feel that each song provides a character that you feel for. The album feels like one big rock opera where the singer is telling a story from beginning to end. By then end of the record you do not want the story to end. The whole album is amazing some standout songs on the record are Woe is Barnaby Black , The Human I am, Call the Police and Lets find some meaning. I have these songs playing on repeat and finding myself singing along with the record especially the choruses. The singer shows amazing range. The musicians on this record are very talented evident on the record by the way the band blends several music genres to make this record. The Record weaves pop punk with elements of Jazz, Piano Music and invokes a queen/my chemical romance sound that the band blends and makes their own. Their website states that the band is made up of comic book nerds, ex theater geeks and a few music theory snobs and it shows in that they have crafted an original sound the is their own.

I encourage each and every one of you to check out this record here and check out the band here and their live show dates here.

I have to say being from Long Island, I grew up with bands such as GlassJaw, Brand New, Taking Back Sunday and the Movie Life were starting and putting the long island music scene on the map, it’s nice to add this good robot to the list check them out here.

Also check them out on twitter at @ThisGoodRobot/ @ThisGoodIdiot
