How long has it been since the first Nintendo was around? It seems like everyone is reminiscing about the good ol’ NES. I got my first NES in 1989 with only Mario and Duck Hunt I loved those two games played them often eventually I beat Super Mario Bros and was awaiting new games tried Super Mario Bros 2 and several other games but didn’t like it or kept renting them (Editor note: I should’ve just bought the games especially with Blockbuster fees but I was a kid. I didn’t understand economics). Later that year something wonderful happened, my cousins Nintendo blew up and I got the best hand me downs on the planet, I received one of the games that would change my life as a gamer forever….Duck Tales. No video game ever compared to the joy both those video games gave me. Duck Tales was the first game that I beat outside Super Mario Bros and even though I beat it I could play it for hours and hours.. The game was simple enough in concept but complex enough where it was still a challenge. 10 year old me felt accomplished when I beat this game. It is still a favorite game of mine and the re-mastered edition was my game of the year last year. The game brings me back to a simpler time in video games a time I miss and brought my love of side-scrollers to the forefront. It surprises me that it took Disney this long to bring Duck Tales to a new generation. Also comment let me know what game means the most to you as a gamer below……
