So we here at the Geeked Gods previously reviewed Wytches #1-5 which we found fantastic well Issue #6 was released to complete the first part of the story. There is also a collected edition paperback available here and rumors of a collected hardcover SDCC exclusive.
Check out all the news about Wytches on the Image comic’s website here or follow Scott Snyders facebook/twitter page @ssnyder1835.
Issue 6 was a great closer to the first part of the story as it provided answers to our questions raised in our previous review and pushed the story further along. This story is perfect for any horror fan as well as comic book fan as this well written comic is perfectly paced, you feel the horrors and joys of the Rook family.
Issue number six gave answers to questions raised by previous issues. I love the writing dynamic of the issue showing the rook family in crisis and in happier times, I for one would nominate Charlie Rooks as father of the year. Charlie Rooks would clearly do anything to save his little girl from her pledge. The issue also showed Sailor Rooks fighting back and holding her own against an onslaught. She is my favorite female heroine in comics as she is a female character that breaks the old damsel in distress even with insurmountable odds she is fighting back with everything she’s got, you can’t help but root for her.
Jocks illustrations help bring the rook family alive, the illustrations are amazing which is why he has been a favorite of mine since his work on Batman Detective Comics Black Mirror saga.
Overall issue I give a 9.5/10 many times in stories you wait so long for answers to questions here we get them and push the stories forward.
The Collection will get a 9/10-If you haven’t picked up the Wytches paperback I suggest you do it’s a must have in the graphic novel collection.
I can’t wait for volume 2 to start I really want to know more about the Rooks and Cray families and the Wytches. I have a feeling soon enough we will learn more about all this and more.
