Cannibal is a story of a town that is about to be affected by the flesh eating pandemic plaguing the South East. The story starts when mosquitos are awoken which carry a disease that causes people to crave Human Flesh. The Southeast United States has been dealing with this pandemic but the town of Willow Florida has not had to deal with this disease. Unfortunately for the town the pandemic hits close to home. This is a must read/add to your pull list can’t wait to see where Buccellato/Young and Mattias Bergara takes Cannibal
In 1994 after a hurricane in South East United states released mosquitoes carrying a virus that causes the infected to crave Human Flesh is released. The Virus spreads like other diseases when flared up it can be spread to people through the Blood Stream, Saliva or through Sex. Most of the Southeast has been dealing with this outbreak but Willow Florida has yet to be affected by this pandemic but someone close to the townspeople may be affected and the town will now face this pandemic head on ….
This article is spoiler free, therefore, I can’t divulge into any of the details of the core story. However this is a brilliant story every page feels like a horror movie unfolding. We the reader gets to experience the pandemic as the town of Willow does. The town and the people deal with this pandemic in various ways. We also see how the town’s people will react when the pandemic hits one of their own. Mattias Bergara’s art and B. Buccellato’s colors brings to life the world of Willow Florida. The Artwork is brilliant and adds to the mystic of the book.
At the end, all I can really say is that this is a great launch to the series and will be adding this title to my pull list. I fear for the town of Willow but can’t wait to read/see what this pandemic does to the townspeople of Willow Florida.
