So we here at The Geeked Gods consider ourselves aficionados of music (I am sorry that sounds Douchey) okay fans of music…. One of the articles this site will focus on with music is to look back at a bands catalog and see where their “best” album was…. The first band we will look at is Interpol….
Interpol for those who do not know is an indie rock band from NYC who is often compared to Joy Division. They have released several albums and the most recent El Pintor got a metacritic score of 77/100 and the first album without bassist Carlos Dengler. The one album that encompasses the best is Antics. Antics represents the album where the band achieved the most critical and commercial acclaims. The albums most popular song was Evil, the video became a staple on MTV (Remember when MTV played videos). Other hits on the album were Narc, Slow Hands, C’mere. My favorite song on the album is A Time to Be So Small, I was wishing that a video would’ve been done for it. Antics expanded on the sound created on their Matador debut Turn on the Bright Lights and created a sound that the band continues to expand upon today. For most bands Antics would represent their peak however their most recent album shows that the band is no way done and we may have not seen/heard their best…..If you are not a fan I urge you to check them out….
