New York City is the melting pot of the world. New York is also the center of the Marvel universe, Spider-man, Daredevil, the Avengers, Fantastic Four,  and the X-Men have all made New York their home. New York is also known to have some of the best Bars/Restaurants in the world. We wanted to show some love to unique Bars and Restaurants introducing Geeked Eats.

Death and Co Sign

Death and Co fromt bumperThe first place we wanted to try is Death and Co.

Death and Co. is located in the East Village at 433 E 6th St, New York, NY 10009

For More Information click on their website here

So upon arrival we were able to get a table however as Death and Co is a popular bar I suggest calling the Bar prior to arriving.

Upon arriving at Death and Co you will notice that the Bar is dimly lit. This works for me as it could set the mood as a romantic venue or as a place to meet friends.

Just to note there is no flash photography or use of a flashlight if you need more light ask the staff for an extra candle.

The ambiance works with the Lit bar and comfortable booths all around. The seats were comfortable and the Menu’s are awesome especially with all the famous quotes about drinking. See below.

death-co-sayingDeath___Co_Classics_Punch_Champagne_Cocktails_MenuDeath and Co is known for their drink and has the largest variety of drinks for any spirit you are looking for. If you don’t know what to order ask the staff they are more than happy to help. Thanks to the awesome Connie for all the suggestions.

Drinks

Death and Co BookDeath and Co is known for their cocktails, in fact David Kaplan wrote a book click here to check out the book

Each Drink was refreshing, exactly what we were looking for with the right amount of Alcohol.

The Drinks we ordered:

The Art of Scratching- Pierre Ferrand 1840 Cognac, Wray & Nephew Rum, Strawberry-Basil Syrup, Lemon, Lime, Clèment Crèole Shrubb, Marie Brizard Crème de Cacao, Angostura Bitters

Fistful of Dollars- Old Grand Dad Bonded Bourbon, Donn’s Mix # 2, Lemon, Cointreau, Campari, Bitter Truth Aromatic Bitters

King of Scots- Apricot Infused Famous Grouse Scotch, Lemon, Pineapple, Vanilla, Westmalle Trappist Tripel Ale, Fee Brothers Whiskey Barrel Aged Bitters

Nite Tripper- Wild Turkey 101 Rye Whiskey, Dolin Dry Vermouth, Cynar, Combier Pamplemousse, St-Germain

My favorite drink was the King of Scots but you can’t go wrong with any of the drinks order and if you get stumped the staff at Death and Co can make recommendations for you.

Then we had Absinthe, Death and Co is one of the few NYC bars that have the treat known as the green fairy on the Menu in fact they have four different types of Absinthe.

We had St Georges which was refreshing and hit the spot.

Food

Death and Co Mac and CheeseAlthough there is a limited food menus everything we ordered tasted wonderful and the presentation especially the Mac and Cheese was beyond expectations.

We loved the Menu’s

Mac and Cheese-Cave Aged cheddar with Black Pepper which is delicious and is the way Mac and Cheese is supposed to taste the Cheese was creamy and the truffle added another dimension to the classic Mac and Cheese. The presentation makes this appetizer, and it’s easy to eat with the Mac and Cheese already on Spoons. See picture above.

Selection of Meats and Cheeses-It’s a seasonal selection of a variety of Meats and Cheeses presented on a cutting board. The dish was flavorful and brought out the liquor taste. Again the presentation was amazing with the Meats and Cheeses served on a cutting board.

Pork Sliders-You can never go wrong with Sliders. It was delicious and the meat was cooked to perfection and tasted like classic bbq.

The Décor is fantastic it is a dark bar but it Adds to the Ambiance

The Staff knowledgeable and Friendly our waitress Connie was attentive and was able to recommend the drinks we were looking for.

This spot is perfect for date night or when you want to get together with friends.

Only complaint the small menu items, everything else was excellent We will be returning.

8.5/10 only drawback, I  wish there was more of a menu
